I have Ubatuba granite and it is filmy, looks dull and leaves water spots on it when I wipe it. How can I fix this?

Q.  I have Ubatuba granite & it is filmy, looks dull & leaves water spots on it when I wipe it. How can I fix this?

A. It is not the stone itself that is the problem but something on the surface of the stone. It may be a dish soap residue build up, in which case we recommend that you clean it with  a high quality, stone safe soap film remover. Another possibility is an excess of sealer coating lying on the surface instead of 'in' the stone, in which case it needs to be removed by a stone restoration professional.
