Q. How should I seal my limestone floor?
A. Select a quality sealer for stone. Ask your professional stone and tile restoration contractor for recommendations. Initially, three applications or more may be required to seal the stone. To determine when enough sealer has been applied, allow it to completely dry and then put a few drops of water on the stone. If the water causes the stone to look darker and doesn't bead up, then you need more sealer. If you determine that your floor needs additional sealer, I would advise you to stick with the same sealer. It's not a good idea to start mixing different types of sealers.
