Mexican tile is a clay terra cotta-type product, and is very absorbent. In order to remove the oil a poultice is necessary. Refer to “Stain Removal Guide for Stone” and carry out the procedure it describes. If the stain is not removed after four or five attempts, I would suggest replacing the stained tile.
TIP To remove stubborn oil stains, try using a good degreaser mixed with a poultice powder. Degreasers can be purchased from your local janitorial supply or from several of the stone suppliers in the resource directory.
