How large of a test patch should I do to determine if the method selected will work?

Test patches should be large enough to give you a representative sample of the work. If you are going to hone and polish a floor I would use at least a four foot by four foot area. Avoid very small test areas. Also make sure your test patch is done with the same equipment that you will be performing the job with. This is extremely important since different equipment can give you different results.

TIP It is always a good idea to perform your test patch in the worst area of the floor. This area will give you your biggest challenge.
