My granite vanity top has gold/brass fixtures. What can I use to clean the granite without damaging the fixtures?

For daily and light cleaning, use a good stone soap, which will not harm the gold or brass fixtures. For heavier-duty cleaning, remove the fixtures or protect them with masking tape. Be careful when using acidic cleaners, since acids will tarnish the fixtures.

CAUTION When taping brass and gold fixtures it is important to use a tape that has low contact. Duct tape and masking tape may damage these fixtures by removing the gold plating when the tape is removed.
