Which machine is best to hone and polish granite, single disk buffer or a large Italian grinding machine?

The larger, heavier machines are much faster at grinding, honing and polishing granite. The large Italian grinders work well but many companies do not have access to them. Many of them also require 220 volts which can be difficult to get in certain situations. The good news is there are several companies coming out with heavy duty machines designed for doing granite. As of this writing there is a heavy duty single disc machine and a very large planetary head machine. Both of these machine seem to do a good job on granite.
