What is the best pad to use for powder polishing? White? Hogs hair? Or... ?

There are many pads that can be used to polish marble. The choice of pad depends on your level of experience. Many experienced craftsman prefer to use a hogs hair or what is known as a burnishing pad. My advice would be to try several and use what works for you.

Hogs hair pads are sold under several names including Gorilla, Jackaroo, synthetic hog hair, etc.

TIP These pads work best on slower rpm machines, either 175 or 300 rpm. Do not clean these pads, you will find that the polishing powder will build up in the pad and will make an excellent pad for maintenance. With all the build up of powder you will only need to add some water.
