What is the best way to remove chewing gum from a flamed granite sidewalk?

You can remove chewing gum by freezing it. Place ice cubes, or, if available, dry ice on top of the gum. The gum will freeze hard, and can easily be popped off the granite.

You can also buy a product at your local janitorial supply called “gum freeze.” Gum freeze is a concentrated solution of carbon dioxide that will freeze the gum.

TIP After you remove the gum there may be a small residue. Remove this residue by wiping with mineral spirits (paint thinner).
