I am trying to hone a saturnia tile floor and it is chewing up my diamonds, any suggestions?

What diamonds are you using? Resin bond diamonds will not last on a saturnia floor. I would recommend using metal bond diamonds, or bricks. Saturnia is a very abrasive stone and will require very abrasive pads.
Try using some of the diamond brick combinations now available. These are relatively inexpensive and may last longer on a saturnia floor.
TIP Saturnia is nothing more than travertine that is cut against the grain. The problem with saturnia is that the holes are positioned in a vertical orientation and will be prone to opening up.
