Impregnators and Stone Slip Resistance

If the product you are using is a true impregnator it will not add or subtract from the slip-resistance of the stone. The impregnator is designed to penetrate below the surface of the stone. Check the product label carefully.
CAUTION If an impregnator is used on a stone surface and you intend to apply a coating to help with slip-resistance , you may have trouble getting the coating to adhere to the stone. Most coatings are water based and the impregnator is designed to repel water.
