Is it OK to use a vacuum cleaner on my marble floors?

Estimated Reading Time: 1 Minutes

Yes and no. A vacuum cleaner can be an excellent tool for eliminating dust and dirt, but you must be sure that it will not scratch the marble. Check the bottom of the vac and make sure there will be no metal rubbing on the stone as you move it back and forth over the floor. Check the beater brush to make sure it will not scratch the marble. Always use the soft brush when using hose attachments and never drag the vac across the floor.

TIP Plastic wheels can also cause scratching on your marble floor. To prevent scratching you can tape the wheels using duct tape. The tape will not last for long so check it regularly and replace when necessary.
