What’s the difference between a neutral cleaner and a stone soap?

A neutral cleaner is a water based cleaner that contains surfactant (detergents) and wetting agents. They are called neutral because they have a pH of 7 which is neutral. It is beyond the scope of this book to explain pH but for further info on pH read my book “Stain Removal Guide for Stone”.\

A stone soap is similar to a neutral cleaner with the addition of a vegetable oil based surfactant. The vegetable oil acts as a conditioner for the stone and with continued use will provide sealing characteristics.

TIP Murphy’s Oil Soap is considered a stone soap.
