When certain granites are honed, there is always a chance of removing some of the mica within the granite. Mica is a mineral found in some granites. The mica is composed of small flakes which easily flake out when honed. Unfortunately there is no quick fix once the damage is done. These holes are usually too small to fill with polyesters. There has been some success in coating the floor with a standard acrylic wax. This unfortunately may be the only fix. This is why it is always important to perform a test before

undertaking the entire job. A small four foot by four foot area will tell what your going to get. If the results are not acceptable then do not perform the work unless you get provide an acceptable finish.
