Is it possible to hone a granite floor without removing the lippage?

It is very difficult to hone a granite floor without removing the lippage. If you do, the result will be an uneven shine. When granite needs honing and polishing the damage is relatively deep and will require starting with at least a 60 grit abrasive.

Lippage removal on granite can be very time consuming. Use the most aggressive grit you can find. I would recommend using a lippage plate and the largest machine you can find. A terrazzo grinder or one of the new granite machines.
